About Us
Christopher Reeves is a Church of England Primary School which was founded with a Trust Deed in 1842. The school is set in the beautiful rural village of Podington in North Bedfordshire. Our catchment area includes Podington, Hinwick and Farndish and, being close to Northamptonshire, we also take children from the surrounding areas including Rushden, Irchester and Wollaston.
We are lucky to have beautiful grounds for our children to enjoy. There is a playground, a large playing field, a Spiritual Garden with pond, and vegetable / flower beds, long grass meadow, woodland area for Forest School and mini-beast corner. The school itself is undergoing a new build programme as we transition from lower to primary provision, and by September 2018 will have four classrooms, a large library / learning area and a brand new large hall, with kitchen and music room.
As a Church school our Christian values are paramount and are reflected in the ethos of the school. Each half term we focus on one of our values (Thankfulness, Compassion, Service, Peace, Hope, Love, Community, Trust, Courage, Justice, Forgiveness) through worship, in class and at other times throughout the day. Our values inform and underpin all policy and practice within the school and adults working in school model these values at all times.
In September 2018, the school entered into a federation with our neighbouring village school, St Lawrence VA Primary School in Wymington. The federation is known as the Chellington Federation.
